On 12th -13th September 2013 there was a trip for 20 Polish and 20 Slovak students aged 7-10 years to the Polish mountains. The purpose of the trip was learning about cultural values resulting from living in the region of the Tatra and Pieniny as well as admiring charming capital of the Polish mountains - Zakopane. This trip was part of the project "Education without borders - in Lubotin and Muszyna . "
In spite of the fact that the weather forecasts were not optimistic ,everyone was punctual at the meeting point . The Slovak friends joined us in Lubotin and passing Łysa Polana we got to Zakopane. The first point of the program was Gubałówka , where we were welcomed by beautiful sunshine and views of the highest mountains with a distinctive Giewont . The walk through the Krupówki street gave us an opportunity to buy gifts for families. After visiting Zakopane we had an accommodation and delicious dinner in Bukowina. There was also a possibility to spend some time in the large aqua park. After a long day we could relax in the guest house .
Next day due to the weather we had to change our plans . We went to Niedzica castle , where we were listening to interesting stories about the old times, when the castle belonged to Hungary . The next point was visiting Pieniński National Park . Both the film and the exhibition were the perfect introduction to the issues related to the protection of the Pieniny area on both sides of the border .
After that we visited Red Monastery and ended up taking part in Dunajec rafting trip . After returning we were tired but happy to share our experiences with colleagues.
The trip was an amazing adventure for us, during which we get to know our Slovak friends and enjoy the beauty of the Tatras and Pieniny on both sides of the border .
